Meet the Author – Janice Hardy
A long-time fantasy reader, Janice Hardy always wondered about the darker side of healing. For her fantasy trilogy THE HEALING WARS, she tapped into her own dark side to create a world where healing was dangerous, and those with the best intentions often made the worst choices. Her books include THE SHIFTER, BLUE FIRE, and DARKFALL from Balzer+Bray/Harper Collins. She loves talking with students and young writers and encourages questions of all types – even the weird ones. She lives in Georgia with her husband, three cats and one very nervous freshwater eel.

Storytelling with Tracy
Walker
Tracy has always loved stories – hearing them, creating them and
telling them. She began her journey as a professional storyteller
by visiting Head Start centers in Southern Appalachia. Since then,
she has shared stories with people in many places – from the St.
Louis Storytelling Festival to the Tale Spin Festival in Chattanooga,
and lots of libraries, schools and festivals in between. As the
Youth Services Specialist at the Dawson County Public Library in
Dawsonville, Georgia, Tracy hosts toddler and preschool storytimes
where she shares her love of story weekly with children and their
families. Her stories are filled with clever chipmunks, tricky foxes
and an entire company of zany characters. Join her for this entertaining
program perfect for children (and adults!) of all ages.

Wolf Tracks with Robyn
Hood Black
for grades 3 and up, 45-60 minutes
Robyn Hood Black (yes, that's her real name) is the author of Sir
Mike, a rhyming Rookie Reader from Scholastic's Children's Press,
and WOLVES, a nonfiction, interactive vault book from Intervisual
Books. Her fiction has appeared in Highlights, and her poetry has
appeared in Hopscotch for Girls and Berry Blue Haiku (which has
also featured her artwork) and has been accepted by Ladybug. She's
also been named assistant editor for Berry Blue Haiku's newest incarnation
as an online journal. Two of her poems have been accepted for an
anthology scheduled for release in 2012 from Roaring Brook Press.
Follow the tracks of the world's most widely distributed predator
on land through Robyn's WOLVES book and beyond! Fun facts and special
show-and-tell items help bring these amazing animals to life. From
habits to habitats, we'll explore the lives of wolves, which have
been both revered and reviled throughout history. Great for discussing
the relationship of humans to the natural world.
