Beloved best-selling author Rick Bragg will headline the 2025 
Dahlonega Literary Festival on Saturday, March 1st.

"Where I Come From"

Pulitzer prize-winning writer, journalist and author Rick Bragg, has written more than a dozen books, including two best-selling memoirs, Ava's Man and All Over but the Shoutin'. Shoutin'  was his first book and has become an anthem for people of the mountain South.  He also wrote the acclaimed biography Jerry Lee Lewis: His Own Story, a book about one of America's music legends.

 

During his career, Bragg has worked for numerous newspapers including The New York Times, LA Times and St. Petersburg Times and has taught writing at Harvard University, the Poynter Institute for Media Studies, Boston University and others.  Bragg's awards, in addition to the Pulitzer, include,  a James Beard Award, the Harper Lee Award, the Fitzgerald Literary Prize, and a Neiman Fellowship (at Harvard).

 

Bragg lives in his native Alabama and writes a monthly column for Southern Living magazine, is a regular contributor to Garden & Gun magazine and teaches writing at the University of Alabama's writing program.
